Packaging Concept Stage

Sketches pulled from initial package design pitch for invite packaging.

Option 1

For a unique interactive experience, guests are invited to pull die cut flowers with individual event details for: The Bodega Lounge (Welcome Party), Bloom & Borough (The Ceremony), and The Midnight Encore (After Party). Digitally printed vellum to mimic tissue paper from bouquets. Custom variable date guest names for each gift tag.

Option 2

An emphasis on Old Westbury’s iconic iron gates. The gate would feature an open door mechanic which would then reveal a curtain moment with florals for the RSVP QR code. When guests lift the wedding invite, foldouts of the floral blooms would reveal event information.

Option 3

A moment for the client’s pigeon with tuxedo bow “mascot” to deliver the guest’s RSVP information in true pigeon delivery style. The pigeon’s wings would fold over the mini envelope to mimic the illusion of holding the item.

Trifold panel to represent the Old Westbury Garden’s arch.

Illustration Pitch

Invite CCP to full illustration

The client was unable to book the original artist in time for the event and had been working with several freelance illustrators without any success.

We were initially tasked with designing the invite’s package design, only. A sample illustration was pitched to the client to take full ownership of the project. The invitation box would pull heavy influence from John Bigg’s illustrations for Vogue’s advent calendar.

The pitch was a success resulting in providing the illustration for the full exterior of the box, website, and various print collateral.

Final Artwork & Color Palette

Invite Box Front

All windows were drawn to carefully depict easter eggs that were personal to the couple. Wedding dresses the bride tried on but didn’t choose, the flower that the groom had proposed with, board games they loved, and the Cold Play vinyl record that represented their love.

Invite Box Back

The back was reserved for all of the people, vendors, and artists that helped make the wedding come to life. Featured are: the bride’s stylist, florist, cake decorator, chef, singer, harpist, stylist, photographer, design agency, event planner, videographer, and wedding dress designer.

Website & Animation

Retaining Bloom & Borough’s whimsy across all touch points

In order to create a seamless experience, the client wanted the guests to feel as if they were being taken care of by a butler experience when entering the website.

A new illustration was created for the animation component of the butler “unlocking” the door and allowing the guest access to the New York building. Additional spot illustrations were created for the events, transportation page, map, and registry.

All illustrated components from the invitation box were cut and separated to create a smooth narrative across all of the windows using After Effects.
